Parallax & Ponder is an independent educational project focused on advanced English vocabulary. The site currently offers a free 30-day vocabulary challenge.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you use the site. By using Parallax & Ponder, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Educational purpose and learning outcomes

Parallax & Ponder is a self-directed educational resource. It is not an accredited course, testing authority, or certification program.

The lessons are designed to support vocabulary study and practice. Learning varies from person to person and depends on factors such as prior knowledge, consistency, effort, and how the materials are used.

The site may be useful for study or preparation, but no particular score, credential, level of mastery, or other educational or professional result is guaranteed.

2. AI-assisted materials and accuracy

Some lesson materials were developed with the assistance of AI tools, including parts of the video and audio content, definitions, examples, quiz questions, and crossword clues.

We make reasonable efforts to review, curate, and improve the material, but errors, omissions, outdated information, or awkward phrasing may remain. Language is nuanced and context-dependent, so an explanation that works in one setting may not fit every setting.

When accuracy matters for an exam, academic work, a professional task, or another important use, check relevant definitions and usage against reliable sources suited to that purpose.

3. Acceptable use and ownership

You may use the site for lawful personal study and share links to its public pages.

Please do not:

• use the site unlawfully or in a way that harms others;
• interfere with the site's operation or security, bypass protective measures, or introduce malicious code;
• use automated tools in a way that places an unreasonable burden on the site;
• copy, scrape, mirror, republish, sell, or distribute substantial portions of the site as a competing content resource;
• infringe another person's intellectual-property, privacy, or other legal rights.

Parallax & Ponder owns its name, branding, site design, original text, and the original selection and arrangement of its materials, to the extent provided by law. Third-party media, trademarks, dictionary content, and linked materials remain the property of their respective owners.

4. Feedback and external resources

Feedback and corrections are welcome. If you send a message, we may use the information you provide as reasonably needed to reply, investigate an issue, improve the project, and protect the site from misuse.

Please do not submit confidential or sensitive information. Sending a message does not create a confidential, professional, or advisory relationship.

The site may include embedded media and links to external websites. Those services and websites have their own terms, policies, and practices. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or conduct. A link does not mean that Parallax & Ponder endorses everything on the linked site.

5. Availability and responsibility

The site and its materials are provided "as is" and "as available." We aim to keep Parallax & Ponder useful and working, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted, complete, accurate, free of errors, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Lessons and features may be corrected, changed, paused, removed, or discontinued at any time.

To the extent permitted by law, Parallax & Ponder is not responsible for losses arising from use of the site, inability to use it, reliance on its materials, or use of an external website. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or responsibility that cannot legally be limited.

6. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the project develops. The date at the top shows the latest revision, and the version posted on the site applies from that date.
